The sports network "ESPN FC" has revealed that negotiations are underway between the officials of Paris Saint-Germain and former Real Madrid coach, Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, to take over as coach of the Parisian team. The network stated in a tweet that Paris Saint-Germain has made contact with Zidane to potentially become the team's coach in the event of an impending departure of Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Zidane has not been linked to any team since resigning as Real Madrid's manager last summer. Meanwhile, doubts have been raised about Pochettino's future with PSG, as the British "Daily Mail" reported on Tuesday that the Argentine coach is unhappy in Paris and wishes to return to the Premier League.
The 49-year-old, who previously managed Tottenham in the Premier League before moving to PSG, is very enthusiastic about returning to the "Premier League" once again, potentially through overseeing Manchester United, which recently sacked their Norwegian coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer due to a series of disappointing results this season.
The report noted that the main factor prompting Pochettino to consider a return to the Premier League is his unhappiness in Paris, as he is living in a hotel while his family resides in London. The newspaper emphasized that Pochettino would not agree to coach Manchester now but would consider it after the current season ends.
United appointed former player Michael Carrick as the interim manager after Solskjaer's dismissal, while the Spanish newspaper "Marca" has suggested several names for the team's managerial position, including Zidane. However, it seems that "Zizou" is not in a hurry to return to work, as he might be waiting for a signal from the French Football Federation to coach the "Blues" or from Paris Saint-Germain.
