Chelsea Star on the Verge of Joining Barcelona

A Spanish sports report revealed today, Wednesday, a new development regarding Barcelona's pursuit of a Chelsea star, starting next season. According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Barcelona's sporting director Mateu Alemany and technical secretary Jordi Cruyff will travel to London today to secure the signature of Danish defender Andreas Christensen officially.

Christensen's contract (25 years old) at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of the current season, and he has not reached an agreement with his club for renewal. Barcelona aims to finalize the contract with Christensen as soon as possible to cut off other clubs pursuing the player, including Bayern Munich.

Bayern needs to replace their international defender Niklas Sule, who decided to move to Borussia Dortmund next summer after his contract at Allianz Arena ends. Bayern is also considering another option from Chelsea, German international Antonio Rudiger, whose contract also expires at the end of the current season. However, the Bavarian club will face stiff competition from Real Madrid and Chelsea, which is looking to renew his contract.
