Granada defeated Napoli 2-0 in one of the surprises of the day in the continental tournament. Granada opened the scoring early through their player Yangel Herrera in the 19th minute, and just three minutes later, player Kennedy added a second goal for Granada in the 21st minute. The match witnessed 7 yellow cards, with 3 for the home side Granada and 4 for Napoli players. Coach Gattuso failed to break through the home team's defense, as Granada's defense successfully contained the visitors' attacks.
It is worth noting that the two teams will meet again at 7:55 PM next Thursday at the "Diego Armando Maradona" stadium in the return match that will determine who advances to the next round of the tournament.
