The International Federation of Football History and Statistics has deemed the Egyptian League as the strongest Arab and African league for the year 2020.
The Egyptian League also ranked 15th on the list of the best leagues in the world for the past year. Previously, the league ranked 30th in 2019, showing an advancement of 15 places in the global standings for 2020. The Italian league "Serie A" topped the list, followed by the English Premier League in second place, the Brazilian league in third, the Spanish league "La Liga" in fourth, and the German league "Bundesliga" in fifth.
It is noted that the Saudi league ranked second in the Arab world and 31st globally, the Moroccan league placed third in the Arab world and 33rd globally, while the Tunisian league occupied the fourth spot in the Arab world and 36th globally.
It is worth mentioning that 18 teams are competing in the Egyptian league this season, with Zamalek leading the table with 19 points after winning against El Gouna with a score of 1-0, thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Yusuf Obama, in a match held yesterday at Petro Sport Stadium as part of the eighth round of the tournament. Meanwhile, Al Ahly is in second place with 17 points, and El Gouna is third with 15 points.
