Title: Egypt Protests Appointment of Referee Gassama for Cameroon Match

The Egyptian Football Association submitted an official protest to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) today, Tuesday, against the appointment of Gambian referee Bakary Gassama to officiate the upcoming match between Cameroon and Egypt, scheduled for this Thursday in the semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Cameroon. The statement from the Egyptian Football Association did not clarify the reasons for the protest against Gassama's appointment.

Additionally, the Egyptian Football Association presented two petitions to CAF, which included complete responses regarding events that occurred following the end of the match between Egypt and Morocco in the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations, as well as details about the inability of the Egyptian national team's coach, Carlos Queiroz, to attend the press conference prior to the match.

A significant dispute erupted in the corridor between the dressing rooms of the Egyptian and Moroccan teams after the match, which ended with the Pharaohs winning two to one, while Moroccan Football Association president Fouzi Lekjaa was present. The match itself also saw clashes between players following a heated exchange between Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi and Pharaohs striker Mostafa Mohamed.
