Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez reaffirmed his confidence in Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, following the challenging 3-2 victory against Sevilla in La Liga, bringing the team a significant step closer to winning the title. Reports had speculated after Real Madrid's recent 4-0 defeat to rivals Barcelona in the Clasico that Ancelotti might leave the club at the end of the current season.
The Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that there is ongoing communication between Ancelotti and the Real Madrid management to plan for the upcoming season. It noted that Pérez held a meeting with the Italian coach last Friday to discuss the team's transfers for next season and potential sales.
The report highlighted that Kylian Mbappé, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, tops Real Madrid's wishlist for the upcoming summer transfer market, while Borussia Dortmund's Norwegian striker Erling Haaland has become a distant target. "Marca" also pointed out that Real Madrid is confident it can generate between 75 to 100 million euros in the next summer transfer window by offloading Marcelo, Gareth Bale, and Isco, in addition to the loans of Takefusa Kubo, Ibrahim Díaz, and Reinier Jesus.
It is worth mentioning that Real Madrid is currently at the top of La Liga, 12 points ahead of its nearest competitor, and has reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, where they will face Manchester City.
