**Urgent Humanitarian Aid**
On another note, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep sorrow over the fires affecting Algeria and the resulting human and material losses. In light of the ties and bonds between the two countries and peoples, it announced that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has directed support for Algeria in its firefighting efforts to help alleviate the consequences. The statement revealed that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center will send urgent humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of those affected and displaced.
**71 Fatalities to Date**
It is worth noting that at least 71 people have died since last Monday in major fires fueled by extreme heat in Algeria's forests, according to the latest toll released by authorities. Algeria is the largest country in Africa, covering 4.1 million hectares of forest with a reforestation rate of 1.76%.
