In a lighthearted statement, Mohamed Salah, the star of Liverpool, suggested that it would be better for his team to play their home matches at Portugal's Porto stadium. On Tuesday, Liverpool secured an overwhelming 5-1 away victory against Porto in the UEFA Champions League, repeating their impressive results on the Portuguese team's ground in recent years. Porto has conceded 14 goals in their last three home matches against Liverpool, losing 5-0 in 2018 and allowing four goals the following year, prior to the latest five-goal rout.
Following the Tuesday match, where Salah scored two goals, the left-footed player joked, "I think it's better for us to play our home games here (at Porto's stadium)." The Egyptian forward continued in an interview with UEFA TV, "I don't know the secret (to scoring heavily at Porto's ground), but we always try to play at 100 percent intensity in every match. We played well against them."
He added, "We scored a lot of goals, but the start of the match was never easy. We just try to give our best, and we were lucky to score first, which makes the game easier for us. We are happy with that." Liverpool leads Group B with 6 points from two matches, while Atlético Madrid is in second place with 4 points, Porto is third with just 1 point, and AC Milan is fourth with no points.
