A Pakistani high court postponed the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan for another day on Thursday to defuse violence that erupted when Khan's supporters clashed with security forces. Khan's aide, Fawad Chaudhry, stated that the Lahore High Court extended the stay order on Khan's arrest until Friday. Information Minister Amir Mir confirmed the court's decision. The attempt to arrest Khan, ordered by the court, sparked clashes between his supporters and security forces at his residence in Lahore, where protesters set fire to police vehicles, cars, and motorcycles and threw Molotov cocktails at security personnel, who responded with tear gas and rubber bullets. The violence subsided after the court suspended the arrest order on Khan on Wednesday.
