Mexican driver Sergio Perez won the first sprint race of the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Saturday. Perez, driving for Red Bull, outperformed Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who started from pole position and finished the race in second place. Leclerc is the first driver to surpass two-time world champion Verstappen this season, aside from Perez. Verstappen leads the championship with 75 points, while his teammate Perez has 62 points. Fernando Alonso is third with Aston Martin, having amassed 48 points.
