Algeria Issues Tender for Soft Wheat Supply to Two Ports Only

European traders reported on Tuesday that "the Algerian Professional Grain Office has issued an international tender for the purchase of soft wheat to be supplied to only two ports." They confirmed that "the tender requests a nominal quantity of 50,000 tons, but shipping to two ports generally indicates that a small purchasing operation is planned." The deadline for submitting bids for the tender is Thursday, April 27, with bids remaining valid until Friday, April 28.

The wheat is required to be shipped during several periods from key supply areas, including Europe, which are between May 16 and May 31, between June 1 and June 15, between June 16 and June 30, and between July 1 and July 15, as well as between July 16 and July 31.

If the supply comes from South America or Australia, shipment must be made one month before those dates. The wheat must be unloaded at the port of Mostaganem and/or the port of Tennis only.
