Wall Street Closes Higher

U.S. stock indexes closed higher today, Thursday, thanks to hopes that the Federal Reserve (the U.S. central bank) will halt interest rate hikes in the coming two weeks, while investors welcomed a vote in Congress to suspend the debt ceiling. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.47% to 33,062.36 points, the S&P 500 increased by 0.99% to 4,221.09 points, and the Nasdaq Composite climbed by 1.28% to 13,100.98 points.
