The European Union (EU) has listed two leaders of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on its terrorism list today, Friday, following the attack carried out by the movement in October on Israeli towns. The EU stated that the individuals are Mohammed Deif, the overall commander of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas's military wing, and his deputy Marwan Issa. Under the decision, the leaders' funds and other financial assets within EU member states will be frozen starting today. A senior EU official expressed expectations that the bloc will adopt further sanctions against Hamas in the coming weeks. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated, "I am sure that sanctions on Hamas will be adopted in the next few weeks, something like that."
