The Finance and Budget Committee resumes its study and approval of the provisions of the 2024 budget project on the first day of work in the new year. Notably, the committee chair, MP Ibrahim Kanaan, aims to complete the committee's work before the end of this month, having started to call for two daily sessions: one before noon and another after noon. This effort comes in light of his insistence that the government should not issue the project via a decree containing tax and fee increases. Therefore, he is working with committee members and representatives to introduce amendments and rally the blocs to advance them in the General Assembly of the Parliament.
