Everton Football Club announced on Tuesday the signing of Portuguese striker Beto from Udinese in Italy for a duration of four years. Neither party disclosed any financial details, but according to British media reports, the transfer fee for the 25-year-old player is £25.8 million ($32.43 million). Everton has not earned any points and has failed to score in their first three Premier League matches of the season. Beto made his debut in the Portuguese league with Portimonense in August 2019. After scoring 11 goals in 30 league matches in his second season with the club, he joined Udinese on loan for a season in 2021. In his first season in Italy, the striker scored 11 goals in 30 Serie A matches. Udinese then signed him permanently for seven million euros ($7.55 million). Last season, Beto scored 10 goals in the league in 33 matches, and Everton attempted to sign him in January of this year. Beto stated, "When a club as big as Everton seeks to buy you in January and then comes back again in the summer, you feel that they really want to sign you, and that made the decision easy for me too."
