Lazio Defeats Roma and Advances to Coppa Italia Semifinals

Matteo Zaccagni scored a penalty to lead Lazio to a 1-0 victory over Roma on Wednesday, securing their place in the semifinals of the Coppa Italia. Zaccagni opened the scoring from the penalty spot six minutes into the second half after Din Huysein, Roma's new signing, fouled Taty Castellanos. Roma nearly equalized near the end of the match, but Lazio goalkeeper Kristos Mandas made a superb save against a direct shot from Andrea Belotti. Tensions rose in stoppage time when Lazio's Pedro received a second yellow card after an altercation with Leandro Paredes, and Roma's Sardar Azmoun was shown a red card for striking Nicolo Rovella. Roma's Gianluca Mancini also received a red card after the final whistle.
