German Foreign Minister Expresses Concern Over Israel's Planned Attack on Rafah

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock expressed deep concern today regarding Israel's announcement of a major military operation planned for Rafah. In a press conference with the Palestinian Foreign Minister in the German capital, she stated, "I am particularly concerned about the Israeli government's announcement of a large-scale ground military operation in Rafah." She added, "Of course, it is quite clear that there is also in Rafah an unimaginably large network for the terrorist organization Hamas," noting that Israel has the right to defend itself against terrorism.
