Did Belarus Ask "Wagner" to Withdraw from the Country?

On Thursday, Belarusian news agency BelTA reported that the country's President Alexander Lukashenko stated that demands for the withdrawal of the Russian private military group Wagner from the country are "unfounded and stupid." The Wagner group, whose founder Yevgeny Prigozhin died in a plane crash in Russia last week, had relocated some of its fighters to Belarus under an agreement mediated by Lukashenko following the group's failed rebellion aimed at overthrowing Prigozhin's rivals in the Russian Ministry of Defense in June.
