The German club Bayern Munich announced today, Wednesday, that it has decided to terminate its cooperation with coach Thomas Tuchel at the end of the current season, despite his contract running until 2025. Tuchel took charge in March 2023, succeeding Julian Nagelsmann, but despite leading the team to win the Bundesliga title last season on the final matchday, Bayern has not performed at the expected level this season, which had seen them dominate German football over the past decade. Bayern has lost its last three matches in all competitions and is now eight points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen. They also lost 1-0 to Lazio in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 last week.
