Ukraine Begins Construction of Nuclear Reactors with American Design

Ukraine has started construction of two reactors designed by the United States at a nuclear power facility in the west of the country following devastating Russian attacks on its electricity grid. The groundbreaking ceremony took place at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant on Thursday for the reactors that will use American technology and fuel sourced from the U.S., with Ukrainian and American flags flying at the site. The project aims to enhance Ukraine's energy security and reduce dependence on Russian nuclear technology. The U.S. Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im) will partially finance the project.
