China Launches New Earth Observation Satellite

China launched a new earth observation satellite, Yaogan-42 01, on Wednesday, carried by a Changzheng 2D rocket. A report published by the Chinese website Zhongguo xinwen stated that "the satellite successfully reached its orbit and began its missions." The report noted that the launch took place at 06:56 AM Beijing time from the "Xichang" spaceport in Sichuan province, southwestern China. This marks the 515th launch of the Changzheng rocket.
