The Ministry of Public Works and Transport confirmed in a statement today that "the snow plowing equipment designated for all centers across the eastern and western mountain ranges is on high alert and prepared for the current snow season, especially with the anticipated weather downturn expected to hit Lebanon in the coming hours." It clarified that "the ministry has been working over the past period to secure the necessary supplies for all centers with the available funding, which we will seek to increase in the 2024 budget, to ensure traffic safety and support winter tourism." The ministry also praised once again "the efforts made by the unsung heroes—center heads, daily workers, and employees—who tirelessly work day and night to keep mountain roads open between regions and towns." It renewed "its appeal to citizens using their vehicles on those roads to adhere to the guidance and instructions of security forces, to ensure their safety and to prevent obstructing the work of the centers, which are expected to continue opening roads and clearing snow."
