Liverpool officials expect Mohamed Salah to remain with the club and are planning for him to be part of their team for next season, despite a recent dispute that arose between the Egyptian star and coach Jurgen Klopp. Salah had a verbal altercation with Klopp during Liverpool's disappointing 2-2 draw with West Ham United last Saturday in round 35 of the Premier League.
Salah started the match on the bench before Klopp brought him on as a substitute in the 79th minute for Luis Diaz. Just seconds before Salah entered the pitch, Michail Antonio scored the equalizer for West Ham against Liverpool (2-2). After the goal was conceded, Klopp approached Salah, who was preparing to come on, and directed some words at him that angered the Egyptian star, leading to a verbal exchange between the two before Uruguay striker Darwin Nunez intervened to defuse the situation.
According to The Athletic, Salah has not decided to leave Liverpool despite the recent crisis with Klopp, and he is expected to remain with the team for next season. It was stated that the 31-year-old forward is approaching the last 12 months of his contract with Liverpool, and while there has been increasing speculation about his departure, Salah has shown no indication of a desire to leave, which aligns with Liverpool's intentions for him to stay at Anfield.
The report added that Liverpool's management plans for Salah to remain part of the squad for the next season, although he attracted significant interest from Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia last summer. The site mentioned that Saudi league clubs also expect Mohamed Salah to stay with Liverpool for another season, so the interest in signing him this summer will not be at the same level as last summer.
Should Salah remain with Liverpool without renewing his contract, Saudi clubs will seek to acquire him in the summer of 2025 on a free transfer. Despite Liverpool's declining results, Salah has been outstanding this season, scoring 29 goals in 49 matches for both club and country across all competitions.
