Piqué wrote on his official account on the social media platform "X": "After careful consideration, I have decided to return to soccer. This time I am not a player but a coach; I will announce more details at the end of the week." Piqué played 666 matches for all clubs, 615 with Barcelona, 28 with Manchester United, and 23 with Real Zaragoza.
