A Blow for Barcelona as Their Star Shines Away from the Field

Barcelona, the Spanish football league champion, has faced a significant setback with the loss of their young star Pedri due to a thigh injury, as announced by the Catalan club on Thursday. Barcelona stated in a statement: "The first team player Pedri has sustained an injury to his right quadriceps. He is unavailable for selection, and his recovery will determine when he returns."

Spanish media predict that the twenty-year-old could be sidelined for up to four weeks, noting that he missed a large part of the second half of last season due to a muscle injury.

Pedri played in both matches that Barcelona has competed in this season, where they drew 0-0 with Getafe before winning 2-0 against Cádiz last weekend, thanks to a late goal from Pedri himself and another in injury time from Ferran Torres.

Barcelona is preparing to face a tough match next Sunday against their host Villarreal in the third round of the Spanish league.
