Minister Gadi Eizenkot in the Israeli war government announced his resignation coinciding with Benny Gantz's resignation. Eizenkot stated in his resignation address: "External and political considerations have infiltrated the decision-making process." He added in his speech to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, "Despite my considerable efforts, alongside my colleagues, the government under your leadership has long refrained from making the critical decisions necessary to achieve the goals of the war and improve the strategic situation of the State of Israel." He continued that this refusal to make crucial decisions "is practically harming the strategic situation and national security of the State of Israel." He concluded, "External and political considerations have infiltrated the discussion rooms. Therefore, this is our time to leave the government."
