The Israeli army stated that "Iran's Imam Hussein Brigade, led by an individual known as Zulfikar, has arrived in southern Lebanon to assist Hezbollah." IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee reported: "Following a series of failures experienced by Hezbollah in achieving success against Israel in recent weeks, the Iranian militia, Imam Hussein Brigade, which was originally established in Syria to support the Iranian axis in recent years, has arrived in southern Lebanon to assist Hezbollah."

Adraee added, "They have engaged in confrontations with the IDF along the Lebanese border in recent weeks and are participating in offensive assaults on Israeli sovereignty." He continued: "Hezbollah and the Imam Hussein Brigade are dragging Lebanon to pay a heavy price on behalf of Hamas." Adraee affirmed that "the IDF is fully prepared to respond forcefully to anyone attempting to violate the state's sovereignty in the north."
