Dubai Participates in "IMEX Frankfurt 2024"

"Dubai Business Events," the official bureau for attracting events and conferences under the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, is participating in the "IMEX Frankfurt 2024" exhibition, which commenced today, alongside more than 35 partners and exhibitors contributing to establishing Dubai as a global preferred destination for hosting major international events, including business events. Among the participants, alongside "Dubai Business Events," are "Emirates Airlines," "Dubai Expo City," "Dubai World Trade Centre," "Emaar Hospitality Group," "Hyatt Hotels," "Atlantis Dubai," and others.

This year’s participation aligns with the exhibition's theme titled "Impact," reflecting the organizers' focus on empowering the global business events sector. The “Dubai Conference and Business Events Strategy” aims to increase visitor numbers and the economic benefits while enhancing the knowledge-based economy in Dubai alongside developing key sectors, in line with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda "D33," which aspires to solidify Dubai's position as a leading global city for business and entertainment, fulfilling the leadership’s vision to make it the best place to live, work, and visit.

Highlighting Dubai's global reputation as a preferred destination for hosting major events and meetings, the International Association of Congresses and Conventions (ICCA) announced Dubai's ranking as first in the Middle East for the number of conferences and meetings hosted for international associations during 2023. Ahmed Al Khaja, Executive Director of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, stated, "The theme of IMEX Frankfurt this year, 'Impact,' reflects our ambition to develop and grow the business events sector in Dubai in accordance with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 by attracting events that have a positive impact on the knowledge-based economy and achieving growth overall."

In this regard, Dubai continued to record outstanding performance in the tourism sector, welcoming over 5.18 million international visitors in the first quarter of 2024, marking an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2023. In the same year, it welcomed more than 17.15 million international visitors, reflecting a 19.4% increase compared to the same period in 2022, which saw 14.36 million international visitors.
