Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant told U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein that "Israel is prepared for the military and political possibilities in the third phase of the war," according to Israeli Army Radio. Galant noted that "the third phase of the Gaza war will have implications on other fronts." Galant and Hochstein discussed the measures that should be taken to enable the residents of northern Israel to return to their homes.
On another note, an Israeli government spokesperson stated that "the delay of U.S. weapons shipments for more than four months is not beneficial in the midst of our existential war." He said, "We are facing difficult times, and our enemies are watching what is happening and feeling emboldened, but we will prevail." The spokesperson added that "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has received assurances about the imminent dispatch of U.S. ammunition shipments."
