Lebanon National Team Announces Squad for AFC Asian Cup

Montenegrin coach Mihajlo Radulović has named the Lebanon national football team's squad for the AFC Asian Cup finals, which will be held in Qatar starting January 12, 2024. The squad includes 26 players, both local and abroad. Notably, midfielder Jihad Ayoub is recovering from injury under the supervision of the medical staff, and defensive duo Hussein Zain and Nasar Nasar have been included despite uncertainties regarding their fitness after sustaining injuries in the recent friendly match where our team defeated Jordan 2-1, having undergone thorough medical examinations.

For the first time since the last World Cup qualifiers, striker Omar Shaaban Boughel has made it into the squad, along with several other players who play professionally abroad but had been absent for various reasons. The Lebanon national team will depart for Qatar's capital, Doha, next Monday morning to begin final preparations for the continental tournament. They are scheduled to face the Saudi national team in a friendly match on December 4 in preparation for their opening match against the host and defending champion Qatar on January 12 at Lusail Stadium, as part of Group A, which also includes China and Tajikistan.
