Barcelona Announces Pedri's Injury Diagnosis

Barcelona announced today, Tuesday, the diagnosis of Pedri, the midfielder of the Catalan team. Pedri sustained a severe injury at the beginning of the match between Spain and Germany in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Euro 2024, following a strong challenge from Toni Kroos. The Spanish Football Federation stated in an official release after the injury: "Medical examinations revealed that Pedri is suffering from a grade two internal lateral ligament sprain in his left knee... but the player will remain in Germany until the end of Euro 2024."

Barcelona confirmed today in an official statement: "New medical examinations were conducted this morning, Tuesday, on Pedri, and it was confirmed that he is suffering from an internal lateral ligament sprain in his left knee... The player will miss matches, and the recovery period will depend on the pace of his healing from the injury."

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Pedri is expected to be out for a month and could return for the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Monaco on August 12. It is noteworthy that Pedri was part of the Spain squad that won the Euro 2024 title after defeating England (2-1) in the final last Sunday.
