Water in the South: To Conserve Water Use Due to Power Outages

The Southern Lebanon Water Authority has called for the conservation of water use due to a reduction in water supply duration. In a statement, it said: "Following the statement from the Electricité du Liban which indicated that the last production unit at the Zahrani plant has stopped production, leading to a complete halt of electricity supply across all Lebanese territories including essential facilities, we urge citizens to conserve water to the maximum extent due to the reduced water supply. It is noted that the authority will take steps to operate generators to cover the power outage, but this will not be sufficient to provide the adequate amount of water to supply all cities and towns within the authority's jurisdiction."
