When the Brazilian Olympic Committee attempted to punish her, it was reported that she mistreated them, leading to an immediate booking of her return flight home. Santos, who did not advance in the men's 4X100 meter freestyle qualifiers, received a reprimand after apologizing. The swimmers are viewed as the golden couple of Brazilian swimming and have a large following on social media for their joint posts.
