His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, received the Qatar (Al Adaam) team delegation, which won two gold medals in high jump and weightlifting, and a bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness congratulated the Qatar team heroes and the administrative and technical staff on the results achieved during the Games, emphasizing the necessity of continuing the journey towards achieving more sports accomplishments and championships in the future.
His Highness also awarded Olympic champion Mutaz Barshim the Al Wajbah Medal, in recognition of his historic achievement of winning three consecutive medals in his Olympic participations and his distinguished representation of Qatari sports.
