Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister in the UAE: Agreement to Open a New Chapter in Relations

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, the diplomatic advisor to the President of the State, met today with His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, and His Excellency Ali Bagheri Kani, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, during his visit to the United Arab Emirates. The meeting discussed the relations between the UAE and the Islamic Republic of Iran, with both sides emphasizing the importance of enhancing these relations based on good neighborliness and mutual respect within the framework of common interests, and working to achieve greater stability and prosperity in the region, as well as developing economic and trade relations between the two neighboring countries. The meeting also addressed regional and international developments of mutual interest, as reported by the Emirates News Agency. For his part, Reuters quoted Kani as saying in a tweet that the Islamic Republic and the UAE have agreed to open a new chapter in their relations.
