The global streaming platform "Netflix" is set to launch a new series titled "Drama Queen," featuring the well-known Egyptian puppet Abla Fahita.
The official page for the famous puppet Abla Fahita announced that March 15 will be the airing date for the series "Drama Queen" on Netflix, which released the official promo for the show. The promo features Abla Fahita alongside her daughter Karo, as well as actors Bassem Samra and Donia Maher. It appears from the promo that the series will include thrilling clips and comedic situations for the puppet, who became popular in the Arab world after the show "El-Duplex," aired on the Egyptian channel on.
"Drama Queen" consists of 6 episodes, wherein the Egyptian puppet takes on the leading role alongside her children Karo and Bodhi, along with a cast of Egyptian actors including Bassem Samra, Donia Maher, and Osama Abdullah. In the series, Fahita finds herself a target of justice and society and will fight to clear her name and reunite with her children. This marks "Drama Queen" as Abla Fahita's first venture into the drama world and explores her human side, highlighting that she will go to great lengths for her family. The character of Abla Fahita is voiced and portrayed by the young Egyptian Hatem El-Kashf, who studied theater and came up with the idea.
The series is directed by Khaled Meri and written by Abla Fahita in collaboration with Mohamed El-Gamal, George Azmy, Dina Maher, and Mahmoud Ezzat. It is produced by both OKWRD Productions in collaboration with Partner Pro, with executive producers Amin El-Masry and Rania Hegazy.
