A circulating video captured the moment Syrian young woman Maryam Muhammad (27 years old) was stabbed in Jordan by a young man who had proposed to her and was rejected. The painful video documented the killer as he repeatedly stabbed his victim until she fell to the ground and breathed her last. The footage, recorded by surveillance cameras in a street in the Ashrafiyeh area of Amman, showed the assailant attacking his victim with multiple stabs until she collapsed and fled the scene, dying due to severe bleeding from injuries to her back, chest, and abdomen.
The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate in Jordan stated last Monday that they received reports of an Arab girl being stabbed by an unknown assailant while in the Ashrafiyeh area, and she soon succumbed to her injuries. The spokesperson added that through investigations and gathering information, they identified the killer, who had gone into hiding after committing the crime. He confirmed that last Monday evening, they located him and arrested him, and investigations were initiated in preparation for referring him to court.
Social media was abuzz with the news of the murder of the young woman residing in Jordan with 15 stab wounds inflicted by a Jordanian young man, allegedly "because she rejected his marriage proposal." Jordanian media reported that "the Syrian young woman Maryam Muhammad, 27 years old, was found dead, covered in blood, after suffering 15 stab wounds to various parts of her body in the Ashrafiyeh neighborhood of the capital, Amman."
