Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi sent a message to his country's national team following their defeat in the Africa Cup of Nations final. The Egyptian team failed to win the championship after losing to Senegal in the final on penalties.
Sisi wrote on his Twitter account: "I would like to express my utmost appreciation and respect to our national football team players for their high performance in the Africa Cup of Nations." He added, "You did what you had to do, earned everyone's respect, and upheld your country's honor."
He further stated, "We are all confident that you will make up for this title and bring joy to Egyptians by qualifying for the World Cup." He concluded: "Our confidence in you and your technical leadership remains unwavering, as what you have shown proves that you are capable of achieving even better, God willing."
