Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan confirmed to his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, the kingdom's readiness to make necessary efforts to contribute to a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis. The Saudi Press Agency "SPA" reported that bin Farhan received Lavrov and his accompanying delegation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh. It noted that the two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance them, in addition to exchanging views on the latest developments in the region and the world and the efforts being made regarding them. Regarding the crisis in Ukraine, bin Farhan emphasized "the kingdom's position based on international law and its support for efforts aimed at reaching a political solution that ends the crisis and achieves security and stability, and that the kingdom is ready to make the necessary efforts to contribute to a political solution to the crisis."
