Pochettino Comments on the Dispute Between Neymar and Mbappe

Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino downplayed the significance of media reports regarding a disagreement between Kylian Mbappe and Neymar da Silva during PSG's 2-0 victory over Montpellier in Ligue 1 this week. French reports suggested that Mbappe was unhappy with Neymar for not passing the ball to him, before the French international spoke to a teammate on the bench expressing his dissatisfaction with the situation.

Pochettino told reporters ahead of the Champions League match against Manchester City on Tuesday, "They are two great individuals, and such things happen." He added, "Things happen between great players. They are competitors who want to win and help the team succeed."

He continued, "I have spoken to both of them individually. They might have talked to each other, and there are pictures showing them enjoying training. If a small incident occurs, it creates a stir, but it is just talk."

Pochettino recently defended his decision to substitute Lionel Messi during a victorious match against Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1, despite the Argentine star feeling upset about being taken off. The PSG coach stated in a press conference on Monday that Messi is expected to participate against City but confirmed that the Argentine scorer needs time to adjust to life in Paris after moving from Barcelona.

PSG drew 1-1 in their opening group stage match of the Champions League against Club Brugge, while City won 6-3 against RB Leipzig.
