Sisi and King Abdullah Confirm the Depth of Egypt-Jordan Relations

Jordanian King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held discussions in Amman today, affirming the depth of the historical relationships between the two countries.

According to the Jordan News Agency "Petra," the two leaders talked about ways to continue enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields that serve their common interests and the aspirations of their peoples, as well as mechanisms to expand tri-lateral cooperation among Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq, and their desire to continue building on what has been achieved in the previous three summits. King Abdullah II praised the level of coordination and consultation between the two countries regarding various issues of common concern.

The discussions also addressed developments in the Arab and regional arenas, foremost among them the Palestinian issue, where the King of Jordan reaffirmed Jordan's clear and steadfast position calling for the need to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution that ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The King welcomed the outcomes of the "AlUla" summit recently held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which contributed to strengthening Arab solidarity and unity.
