In a significant meeting at the Prime Minister's headquarters in Baghdad, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi welcomed Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, Vice President of the Supreme Shiite Islamic Council, who arrived in the Iraqi capital earlier today.
The lengthy session provided Al-Khatib the opportunity to present the current situation in Lebanon, with a focus on the southern regions, and to deliver a memorandum containing relevant data to the Iraqi Prime Minister.
Al-Khatib expressed gratitude for the support Iraq offers Lebanon across various fields, appreciating the contributions of both the Iraqi government and its people.
The meeting also covered regional affairs and developments, as well as Iraq's relations with the Arab world, Iran, and the West.
Prime Minister Al-Zaydi reaffirmed Iraq's commitment to an open policy with all parties, announcing plans for a visit to Lebanon in October.
Furthermore, he emphasized Iraq's ongoing support and aid to Lebanon in addressing its needs.
