The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Tuesday, citing sources from Iranian-controlled areas west of the Euphrates, that last night's airstrikes in the region resulted in at least 12 injuries among pro-Iran militias, who are of non-Syrian nationality. The sources clarified that the airstrikes led to the "destruction of ground-to-ground missile launch pads, manufactured in Iran, which the Iranian-affiliated militias had installed in the al-Mazari area, considered the largest gathering of militias in the area." They added that the wounded were transferred to the Al-Shifa Hospital operated by the militias within the city of al-Mayadeen, amidst security measures and heightened alert among the militias in the area.
The observatory reported on Monday evening that an unidentified aircraft struck areas along the Syrian-Iraqi border near the city of al-Bukamal, coinciding with another strike in the city of al-Mayadeen in Deir ez-Zor countryside. The observatory noted that explosions were heard in the border area between Syria and Iraq near al-Bukamal, where Iranian militias are stationed, due to the airstrikes by an unidentified aircraft. It also reported that these strikes coincided with "the sound of violent explosions in the al-Mazari area near al-Mayadeen in Deir ez-Zor countryside, resulting from bombardment by unidentified aircraft targeting Iranian militia positions in the western Euphrates region of Syria." The observatory highlighted that "the al-Mazari area serves as a training center for Iranian militias for fighters and new recruits."
