Former England Striker: Salah is the Best Player in the World, Surpassing Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar

Former England international striker Darren Bent has revealed that Egyptian star Mohamed Salah is the best player in the world this season, stating that his abilities have reached such high levels that he surpasses Paris Saint-Germain's attacking trio of Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar.

In statements to "talkSPORT," Bent mentioned that Messi's performance this season does not match that of Manchester City's winger Riyad Mahrez or Liverpool's top scorer Mohamed Salah. He pointed out that the Argentine star's start at Paris Saint-Germain, where he joined at the beginning of the current season from Barcelona, has been difficult, as he has only scored two goals in Ligue 1 and seven across all competitions.

Bent added, "I know it sounds a bit strange, but right now I would choose Mahrez over Messi... Mahrez is performing unbelievably at the moment." He also remarked, "I bet that Manchester City fans would not replace Messi with Mahrez right now... Mahrez has been fantastic this season."

When asked if he would choose Salah or Messi, Bent responded: "If there is a game tomorrow, I would choose Salah!... I think Messi is the best of all time in history, but what I am saying is that right now, Salah is playing better than him."

Many have pointed out that Salah has been the best player in the world this season, and Bent believes his abilities have reached such high levels that he surpasses the PSG trio of Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar.

He continued: "We call the Premier League the best league in the world, and Salah has established himself as a star of the best league in the world over the past four years."

Bent further commented, "I think there is evidence that Salah is the best player in the world, and there are also those who believe that (Bayern Munich striker) Robert Lewandowski is currently the best in the world," according to Russian news outlet RT.

The former England international concluded by saying, "Name a player better than Salah right now. It's difficult; Salah is incredible. He could join any team in the world. He could play in PSG's attack at the expense of one of the current attacking trio (Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe)."
