Poland: To Ban Participation of Athletes from Russia and Belarus

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today, Monday, "We firmly believe that now is not the time to discuss any form of opening up for athletes from Russia and Belarus to return to the Olympic Games." It added, "The participation of athletes from Russia and Belarus in the Paris 2024 Olympics should be banned unless Moscow withdraws its troops from Ukraine." This statement comes amid plans by the International Olympic Committee to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the games as neutrals.
