Resignation of the President of the Turkish Red Crescent

The Turkish Red Crescent announced on Friday that its president, Kerem Kınık, has resigned after three months of controversy regarding the sale of tents to a charity in the early days following the devastating earthquake in Turkey. The Turkish Red Crescent stated in a press release that it will hold an emergency meeting following the president's resignation. Initially, Kınık claimed he was aware of the sale of the tents and described the action as legal, adding that an affiliated organization of the Turkish Red Crescent had sold the tents. However, he later denied any knowledge of the sale.
