Brighton & Hove Albion, competing in the Premier League, has signed German midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud today, Friday, on a four-year contract following the expiration of his contract with Borussia Dortmund. Brighton has not disclosed the financial details of the deal for the 27-year-old player, who was born in Syria. Dahoud, who underwent shoulder surgery last year, will join Brighton on July 1 after his contract with the Bundesliga runner-up ends. Coach Roberto De Zerbi stated, "I am excited to have Mahmoud in my team. I wanted him with me since I was coaching Sassuolo, and I am sure he will be among the best for us." Dahoud has played two matches for the German national team after starting his international career against Turkey in 2020. Brighton will compete in European competitions for the first time next season after finishing sixth in the league and qualifying for the Europa League. Brighton announced on Wednesday the signing of midfielder James Milner (37 years old) on a free transfer from Liverpool.
