FIBA Appoints Lebanese Federation President Akram Halabi as Member of Competitions Committee

The Executive Office of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has appointed Akram Halabi, the first vice president of the Asian Basketball Confederation and president of the Lebanese Basketball Federation, as a member of the Competitions Committee for a term of four years due to his "experience and commitment to the game of basketball." The responsibilities of the Competitions Committee, chaired by Latvia's Edgars Snape, include all matters related to men's, women's, and youth teams, as well as club championships. Halabi was informed of his appointment on Friday, September 22, through correspondence that included Article 22 of the regulations outlining the powers and duties of the Competitions Committee.
