Putin Discusses Iran's Potential Membership in BRICS

The Russian official agency "TASS" reported, citing the Kremlin, that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi discussed, in a phone call on Thursday, the possibility of Iran joining the BRICS group in the future. The BRICS group of emerging economies, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, is set to explore expansion possibilities during a summit hosted by South Africa next month. TASS added that Putin and Raisi reiterated their support for continuing to develop bilateral relations in the fields of trade, transport, and logistics services.
