Major indexes on Wall Street opened lower on Tuesday as investors hesitated to make strong bets ahead of important economic data set to be released this week, which will provide more clues about the state of the economy. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 28.86 points, or 0.08 percent, to open at 34,531.12 points. The S&P 500 opened down 0.56 points, or 0.01 percent, at 4,432.75 points, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 17.90 points, or 0.13 percent, to open at 13,687.23 points.
